1 year

today marks my first year anniversary on blogspot. nothing spectacular. its just its been a year that i am obsessing about make ups, bags, and everything cute. I actually stopped blogging recently and my wallet grew a little fatter. ugh, i don't know. is it me or is there something about this blogging that makes me poor?
anyways, i would just like to take this chance to thank blogger because i was able to meet people here. there are those who are waaaaaaaaay too snobbish for my taste and there are those as well who are really really really nice girls. you know who you are. :)
erm, i don't know maybe i'll be posting some updates soon but for now im just gonna be hanging around my facebook.

I NEED HELP! FASHION HELP!

I know I am not ugly I admit. But I am so insecure about myself because I don't know really how to shop for clothes. I gained 45 lbs during the last 3 years and dressing up is really hard for me. I wasted so much money on clothes that I will only wear for one season because for sure on the succeeding year/ same season the same clothes wont fit me. I came here size 4/6 and now I am a whopping 10/12 and sometimes 14. I feel terribly sad about this but I know some chunky girls who can dress up really good and admire them for that.

Girls, there is no limit on how much tips you could give me as long as I can afford it, I am willing to spend just to overhaul my closet.

Typhoon hit the Philippines

More than 140 people were confirmed dead on the most recent tragic typhoon that hit my beloved country, THE PHILIPPINES. This wont be a beauty related blog but rather a dedication to all the people who were there and not there that suffered this tragic moment.

Last Friday, I was chatting with my friends in the Philippines telling me how hard the rain is falling back home, I wasn't shocked because Philippines shares one of the highest inches of rain since it is a tropical rainforest country. But when I woke up early Saturday morning to check up on my mom's flight to Thailand, she suddenly told me that it was cancelled.

I was soooo curious why, then I opened my facebook account just to find out that the flood reached neck deep and most people are already on top of their roofs.

I must admit that I wasn't worried about my parents because we live in a very comfortable home. My dad made sure even before buying our house that it's situated in a high land and that things like this wont be a problem for us. I was wrong. My dad's wrong. Here's the proof:

I felt terribly sad because 2 of our cars got drowned and we're still not sure if it's going to run. But nevertheless, I am still thankful everyone inside the house were safe because we have a 2nd floor.

very big decision

hey girls i have a big dillema goin on right now. i know this may not be as big as you will think but i am investing my money on something very beautiful.. please help me decide on whether to get a gucci or a louis vuitton pocketbook? BareMinerals

i would love to be considered to be on the infomercial of bare minerals, i mean.. until now, for almost 2 years of helping me achieve a flawless skin it never failed me not even once. I know a lot of you girls considered the mineral makeups that are popping out of the market recently but nothing has ever surpass the greatness of BareMinerals on me.

The only downside of it is the price. It's a bit too much compared to the others but the content would last me half a year considering that I use it everyday.

I stopped working for a while after I got married, so I also stopped using make up that often. I began exploring different brands like MAC, NARS, MUFE, Etc.. but to my dismay it ended up sitting in my traincase unused (might do a blog sale soon).

hey everyone. it's been a heck of a time since i last posted something here in blog. First of all, I would like to apologize to my contest winner, KAY because of the delay of the prize I am suppose to give. Again, I'm really really sorry.
My mom flew back to Manila on May 30.. believe it or not, after 3 years of her flying to & from the Philippines, it was a first time experience to me to cry hysterically in the airport. My husband wasn't there to be with us so its only me who was left in the airport's rest room cubicle crying my heart out. Its very refreshing to know that i am still capable of crying. I cannot even remember the last time I cried that much prior May 30.
Next.. I am very excited because I had my job interview early this afternoon and I got the job! I feel so blessed because with this recession thing going on in the country, it's really hard to find a job that pays good.
I will start working two weeks from now and I am super duper excited because finally I will have a decent earnings and can dress up really cute. :)
I must post something everyday to keep up with my absence for a month..

Auto Show NY 09

The title is as boring as a snooze. I went yesterday to the last day of the show with husband and had a great time. I am your typical girly girly not really interested with cars and stuff. As long as I can get to point A to point B, then there's nothing that's gonna matter to me. But yesterday was daaaaaaaaaang man! really! saw awesome cars and even had the chance to get inside some cars that are waaaaay out of our budget. lol.. We also had an opportunity to see feel and be in our next prospect car, A Suzuki SX4 crossover. I wont go into details on whats that car's about coz this is a make up blog! lol.. (why am I even talking cars here) anyhoo.. for the car porn, here are the pictures:

I did some major shopping today and got so many things for less than $20. It's recession time. So I satisfied my cravings for cosmetics on these pretty things..

Been wanting to try on some gel liner. I found this at Rite-Aid for $5.99 and that's with the brush already. I wanna see how violet looks on my eyes..

Here's the swatch. I think it's pretty. Haven't worn it yet on my eyes though.

Wet n Wild is having a major sale. All items is for .99 cents each. I think I wanna try some of their products. I was looking for my very first lipstick shade ever ( I was 13 years old then) I failed. I just tried their lipgloss. For 99 cents I think I had a good steal.

Next is their nail polish. Everyone's wearing them, I'm not a big fan of full shade per nail. I am more of french tip kinda girl. But the color's soooo pretty, and again for 99 cents I don't think it's a sin to get one. Lol..

Next stop is Annie Sez. My friend drove me there (YES! I CAN'T DRIVE) lol.. and found this cute colorful lesportsac bag. I didn't think twice and swiped my card on this..

Ok let's face it. I met my husband when I was 24, married him at 25. A couple of weeks from now, I will be 26. But reality speaking, my favorite age would be when I was 23. When I hit that age, a lot of major life changing things happened to me. I would say that things fell into place after 23. This is my major door that I faced. I was at the most crucial stage of my life when I turned 23. Let me tell you why..

I was in the Philippines when I celebrated my 23rd birthday. I cannot even remember how I celebrated it. All I know is that I was working too hard that I am barely at home nor at my ex bf's plans. I am the busiest career woman at age 22. After I turned 23, I became part of Fitness First (A major gym in the Philippines & in Asia/ Europe) Philippine team.

Just when I was having the time of my life, I had to make the biggest decision ever. I had to leave my awesomest job and go to Las Vegas to work for my ex bf's business there. I said YES and moved to LV. My ex BF said that we'll make our plans here in the United States. I came in first and he never followed me. That was the most shattering part ever. I was in tears for two weeks. But I was a strong woman. I never gave up on life and decided to quit the job in LV and move on with my life. That's when I hit the Big Apple and tried making it there. It was also an emotional moment to me to be in NYC because after 10 years of not seeing my brother, I had the chance to meet him again plus his child, my second nephew!!!

Ok, so I explored New York as if I have never been there before. I actually gone to the Big Apple back & forth when I was younger with my family. But I've never seen it by myself. As an independent woman. I explored and survived NYC at the age of 23. Whenever I am in the subway, corny as it may sound, I always play Frank Sinatra's New York, New York. His lyric's so true, "If I can make it there, Ill make it anywhere" I am sure alot of you agrees to this.

My friend flew from Madrid, Spain to see me. I miss her. Totally. We conquered Manhattan like a maniac tourist. LOL

I also had the chance to work in the Fashion District as an "Emily" to this fashion designer. That was the whipped cream on my apple pie. I had the opportunity to memorize the subway stations as that jerk (yep he's a guy) keeps asking me to return stuffs at bloomingdales, macy's, barneys, soho and almost everywhere. I had to keep it up coz I have to make it in New York!!!!!

After a few months ,I decided to move to New Jersey because I am having too much of the city. Also, my brother lives in a studio apartment with his wife & his kid and having me there will be too much of a load already.

That's when my good old friend from the Philippines coincidentally contacted me and offered me her place in Jersey City. A 15 mins subway ride to Manhattan. At first we were living under the supervision of her mom which was actually cool. But after sometime her mom has to go back to the Philippines to take care of something. That's when things fell into place.

We got no friends no family no nothing in New Jersey. All we did was to party, to eat junk food and to fatten our asses off as we go through each day. It was in NJ that I felt that I was thrown into the ocean, thriving to live. Striving to survive. It was very very difficult.

Looks like we're doin pot here but we're NOT!!! I was so smashed by my only companion in life, alcohol. I was 23 when I started my alcohol addiction..

Booze is the only happiness I got.

I lost touch with my brother, my parents and to the whole world when I was 23. I felt so abandoned. I was hating the world and loving it at the same time.

I was hating the fact that my parents allowed these things to happen to me. Not caring to come visit and check on me, not caring to send me money so I can be fed with good food. But I was loving it at the same time coz I could do whatever I wanted to do with my life. I can go wherever I want.

Then came my 24th birthday.
I had a blast celebrating it in the city. But after a few months after I turned 24, I realized that I am no longer a kid wasting moments life has given me. I decided to become an adult.

I was F*cked up when I decided to call my parents and thanked them for the wonderful opportunity they gave me to be an independent woman.

So there you have it my blogmates, my ups & downs of being 23. It was a great experience being 23. But it was more exciting ending it and becoming a real adult.

I'm moving

I'm trying out a new host for my blog. I will see if this is better than blogspot. I hope I'll be able to comeback if things wont work out.. yikes!! they're importing my blogs now..

Home Goods + Hair update

Had a long day today!! Met quite a few irritating people!!! But nevertheless I had a good day. My NFF (New Found Friend) who happens to be an Interior Designer brought me to Home Goods. Instead of a typical make-up/ cosmetics buying sessions I usually have, I had the chance to shop around home items kinda-store. I liked it. It made me feel like I am a mature woman, capable of designing my own home on my mind. Anyhoo I got some stuff there. Believe it or not I am obsessed with knives. Ever since I started living on my own (when I was still single) I always look/ shop for knives on kitchen sections of Macy's JC Penney, Sears, Etc.. I have a couple of kitchenmate, cuisinart knives I left in my old apartment. Luckilly this trip to HomeGooods made me find a Swiss Knife at a fraction of it's cost!!!


Ofcourse beauty related item still attracted my eyes. I gotta have this mirror I said. My eyebrows are like a bunch of bushy grass waiting to get plucked.. lol..
And yes, I bought a knife!! I'm sorry to scare the shittt out of you my blogmate but I'm keeping this on my purse..
And yeah, this is how my highlights look like.. (steph, I told u I like ur hair) I had it cut w/ almost the same style as yours..
